Our workshops

Learn. Speak. Lead.

Free debate, public speaking, and leadership workshops for Spanish-speaking youth in Denver — raising the next generation of Latino leaders. Designed for students in 5th–8th grade, held 100% in Spanish, with age-based groups.

What a workshop day looks like

A typical day at the workshop.

Workshops start with warm-up games so everyone can relax and get to know each other — nobody walks in and goes straight to the microphone. Then come speaking and debate activities where your child learns to build arguments, listen carefully, and speak with confidence in front of their group. Participants are grouped by age, so your child is surrounded by peers at the same level. By the end of the day, they go home with something real: the experience of having stood up in front of a group, having spoken, and having been heard. And the desire to come back.

Age divisions

Groups designed for each stage.

Low-pressure activities to build confidence in speaking. Games, short stories, and first steps in debate — in an environment where making a mistake isn't just allowed, it's part of the plan.

  • Introduction to public speaking
  • Mini-debates on everyday topics

Ages 12–14

  • Refutation and critical thinking
  • Presentations before the group

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know.

Is it really free?
Yes — 100% free, always. No hidden fees, no materials to buy, no registration cost. We believe every future leader deserves these skills — so we keep it free.
Who supervises the kids?
Background-checked adult volunteers supervise every activity, with a minimum ratio of 1 adult per 6 youth. Workshops are held in trusted community spaces such as La Familia Recreation Center.
What does my child need to bring?
Just a willingness to learn. We provide all materials. We recommend bringing water and a light lunch.
My child is shy — can they still participate?
Yes — and this is exactly the space built for them. We start with fun, low-pressure activities. Students are grouped by age so they feel comfortable. Most shy kids who come once, come back — and by week three, they're leading.
Where are the workshops held?
In community spaces around Denver. Our most recent workshop was at La Familia Recreation Center. We send you the exact address when you register.
